The celebrated piano virtuoso and composer Franz Liszt was also a church musician, organist, improviser and composer of sacred music, including 70 organ works.
Lockenhaus will be celebrating the 200th anniversary of the most world-famous native of central Burgenland with the performance of his complete works for organ by international star organists on four evenings in 2011.
The captivating Romantic music of Alexandre Guilmant and Jehan Alain, for both of whom 2011 is a jubilee year, will also be performed for a broad public during the organ festival founded by Wolfgang Horvath.
All the organ concerts will be broadcasted on a video wall in the church.
